I have taught high school and community college and at U. S. Naval Academy and Clemson University. I have tutored seventh grade students at a tutoring center to college level students at a community college in math, chemistry, and physics. A student often knows enough facts and methods to solve a problem but doesn’t have them organized. Rather than just show how to work through a problem, I try to ask those questions that will lead a student to discover the intermediate steps needed to work through a solution so that they can develop those skills needed and have them imprinted on their mind.
